澳洲昆士蘭大學教授Gwendolen Jull是位國際知名學者，為頸椎肌肉骨骼系統問題，尤其是頸因性頭痛及鞭打症候群的專家。Gwen共有389篇研究著作及40多本專書著作，為Grieve’s Modern Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy(第四版)的共同主編。自1995年起即為Manual therapy期刊的編輯及20多種國際期刊的審查委員。除了在學術研究方面的傑出表現，Gwen在臨床上亦有著精湛的徒手治療技術及運動訓練方法。此次學會邀請Gwen在北中南東四區各舉辦2天頸椎問題的評估、徒手治療手法及運動訓練的小班實務操作課程。
Dr Gwendolen Jull is Emeritus Professor in Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland, Australia. Her research, teaching and clinical interests are cervical disorders, particularly cervicogenic headache and whiplash associated disorders, manual therapy and quantifying the dysfunction in the cervical neuromuscular and sensorimotor systems as a basis for therapeutic exercise in the rehabilitation of neck disorders. Professor Jull has published extensively in the field with over 250 journal publications and 40 book chapters. She is co-editor of Grieve’s Modern Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy 4th edition and has published a textbook on the management of neck pain. Professor Jull is a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. She is the co-editor of Manual Therapy, a leading international journal in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
This course will discuss neck pain disorders and their management. Common presentations and the nature of physical impairment in the sensory, articular, neuromuscular and sensorimotor systems will be discussed as the basis for treatment planning. This course has a practical emphasis and will present a research informed management approach. This approach emphasizes a multimodal approach which is offered in the context of the biopsychosocial model of management for musculoskeletal disorders.
